Welcome to Naples Premier Bridge Club

The Naples Bridge Center has a long history of serving the bridge-playing community with games and education, dating back to 1970. As a member-owned, non-profit organization it provides a premier environment for both learning and playing bridge. Visitors are always welcome.

All games are sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) and directed by a staff of professionals.  Easily reached from all areas of Collier County, the NBC features the nicest playing conditions in Southwest Florida.   In Memoriam

  Long-time game director, Board of Governors member, bridge teacher, and Silver Life Master, Joyce Krout, passed away Friday morning, Jan 6, after several decades of battling COPD.  Joyce was able to leave her nursing home for a brief outing to the club Christmas Party in December as an award for service was presented in her honor.  Everyone was so pleased to see her and she was delighted to be there.  We shall all miss her very much.

• ACBL-Wide Event

  On Saturday, January 28, NBC will participate in the ACBL-wide International Fund Game.  Players all over the world play the same hands.  Every participant receives an analysis sheet by Frank Stewart that discusses how the hand should be bid and played.  This event has full sectional rating so offers Triple Points.

• Expert Guest Speaker

  Marty Bergen Presents Problems with Preempts !

  Expert player/teacher/writer.  A ten-time national champion, ACBL Grand Life Master, and World Bridge Federation (WBF) World International Master, Marty retired from active competition in 1992 to teach and write.  Bergen is well-known for his innovative development of bidding conventions and treatments, including DONT and Bergen Raises.  He has authored 47 bridge books including the all-time bestseller Points Schmoints.

  Preempts are designed to make life difficult for the opponents but sometimes they make life difficult for partner instead.  Marty will teach you how to deal with preempts from both sides of the table – opponents or partner!

  Learn from an expert:

  - Constructive bidding over partner’s preempts

  When to bid and when to be quiet

  - Dealing with the opponents preempts

  Handling 2-Bids and 3-Bids

  For those who have taken lessons and want to play. This is an opportunity to practice what you learned while having help available to answer your questions and offer suggestions during the game. You will play for approximately two hours. Come with a partner or by yourself.
